Providing Medicine Project

Objective
Our objective is to distribute essential medicines for kidney patients free of charge, at times where these medicines are unavailable for the patient’s to purchase.
Target Beneficiaries
Kidney patients, who have gone through successful kidney transplantation, have to well protect the new kidney to avoid rejection. These patients have to undergo special care after transplantation. They require very expensive medicines, such as: MMF, Tactrolimus, Erythropoitein and etc. Sometimes these medicines become rare in Sri Lanka, making kidney patients more miserable. This project main focus is for kidney patients with successful transplantation.

Scope and Scale
In the last 10 years, our association was able to distribute the essential medicines for kidney patients when they were in need.
Also during the Covid -19 breakdown, when some medicines were not available at any rate in Sri Lanka, we were strong enough to maintain stocks of the necessary medicines and distribute them free of charge to the kidney patients.

Throughout the year from January to December.
Funding Requirements
Purchasing of medicines in year 2023 cost was Rs 2,945,334.12.00
Impact
More than 100 of kidney patients are benefited from this projects.
Actually some kidney patients are not financially stable to purchase the essential medicines. This project aids all those kidney patients to save their lives and live a long and healthy life.
