Donate to Save Sri Lankan Kidney Patients.

Samastha Lanka Kidney Patients Association, the Oldest Kidney Association in Sri Lanka, has done a tremendous work to uplift the quality of care for Sri Lankan kidney patients by:

Helping kidney patients to receive their dialysis treatment.
Helping kidney patients to receive expensive healthcare.
Launched Sri Lanka’s first Sinhala web site with educational content dedicated for kidney patients (www.samasthalankakidneypatients.lk).
Developing a youtube channel with content useful for kidney patients.
Improving awareness among Sri Lankans about kidney diseases which are affecting more and more Sri Lankans via TV and radio programmes
Encouraging kidney patients to get involved in their respective religious activities to obtain blessings & spiritual support.
Provide free special nephrology consultation services for kidney patients.
Providing aid and if needed dry rations to families of kidney patients during their time of need.
Introducing a very successful insurance scheme for kidney patients for the first time in Sri Lanka.
Launching 13 educational books on kidney disease published in all three languages
Creating a platform where artists, celebrities, religious leaders and other charismatic individuals could come together and assist the health, social and economic issues of kidney patients
Releasing a song dedicated to kidney patients.
Organising a cricket match between kidney donors and recipients for the first time in Sri Lanka. This promoted the idea that post-operation, both parties can lead fulfilling lives.
Introducing Sri Lanka’s first scholarship programme dedicated to the children of kidney patients.
Annually distributing stationary and school supplies to the children of kidney patients..
Organising programmes in appreciation of kidney donors for the first time in Sri Lanka.
Publishing a “kidney health themed” calendar annually for the first time in Sri Lanka.
Actively participated to purchase a machine to medical research institute which tests cyclosporine and tacrolimus levels of the blood in transplanted patients.
Conducting a sticker campaign in different parts of the country in order to both improve the awareness about kidney health and to collect funds for kidney patients
Developed a special identity card for kidney patients in order to improve the and gave them a pleasant social acceptance of their condition in the society
Educating kidney patients about available resources that they can get support
Provisioning of financial and moral support for funerals of kidney patients.
Provisioning of transport costs of the kidney patients when they comewho travel from rural areas for clinicsto visit the clinics and receive dialysis.
Organising programmes in appreciation of people and organisations which aid kidney patients.
Provision of dialysis consumables (filters, dialysis solution, dialysis tubes, fistula needles) for kidney patients in need.
Maintaining stocks of medicine needed by kidney patients and distributing them accordingly.
Educating, Guiding and encouraging of kidney patients.
Always being there for kidney patients in Sri Lanka, to help them overcome all obstacles and to meet their needs.
Developing an awareness programme over SMS with the telecom service provider Dialog.
Launching the first educational newspaper on kidney news paper health titled “Wakugaduwa”.

Introducing a Health benefit Scheme for the first time for Sri Lankan kidney patients
Contributing easily understandable published literature on kidney disease by releasing 13 publications in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages, to enhance the knowledge of the society on the subject of kidney disease.
Creating care networks with community elders, academics, celebrities, religious leaders and entrepreneurs with the specific intention to support kidney patients by attending to their social and economic issues.
Inventing and introducing a song on behalf of kidney patients, for the first time in history.
Organizing programmers such as cricket matches between kidney donors and recipients which not only contributes towards their physical and mental wellbeing, but also encourages building their confidence to lead fulfilling lives.

Actively participating in donating a machine to measure kidney patient’s blood Cyclosporine and Tacrolimus levels to Medical Research Institute of Sri Lanka (MRI).
Annually printing a kidney health themed calendar, to enhance the knowledge of the society to avoid Kidney disease.
Conducting sticker campaigns to help kidney patient’s life quality and chances of recovery and expanding the knowledge on kidney health, by using stickers as a medium for awareness creation.

Creating awareness among kidney patients about the avenues of aid and assistance which are available to them.
Providing assistance for the families of kidney patients, after the death of the kidney patient, to organize their funerals ceremony.
Providing a monthly allowance for kidney patients to cover their travelling costs when they need to travel distances between their home and place of treatment.
Supplying, dialysis filter, dialysis solution, dialysis tube and fistula needle when needed, for kidney patients who requires the dialysis treatment to live.
Maintaining stocks of medicine needed by kidney patients, and distributing them among the kidney patients on a needs basis, when required.
Providing relevant information, direction and confidence to kidney patients to overcome their disease and to encourage to strengthen their lives.
Act on behalf of all kidney patients across Sri Lanka to help them meet their needs and overcome obstacles.
Creating a SMS service dedicated to kidney patients by partnering with Dialog Axiata PLC.
Publishing Sri Lanka’s first newspaper dedicated to sharing information related to kidney disease for kidney patients and the society.

The mission of the Samastha Lanka Kidney Patients Association is mainly to support kidney patients and their loved ones, advancing the care and treatment and leading to the dramatic increase in survival, longevity and quality of life for those living with Chronic kidney disease.

A concrete help for betterment of dialysis patients

The dialysis procedure for a kidney patient costs at least 8000/- rupees per treatment and this needs to be done twice a week. Our association assist dialysis patients for at least one of their dialysis treatments. It costs approximately Rs. 832000/- per person annually for dialysis treatments alone. This condition makes lives of dialysis patients more complicated and also due to the economic crisis rose as a result of Covid 19 panademic situation dialysis patients were unable to afford for their dialysis treatments for a living. Considering such moments of need, you could also assist us in helping the dialysis patients who are currently suffering due to aftermath effects of Covid 19 on their lives.

Choose the perfect help plan for you

When the main incomer of a family becomes a victim of Chronic Kidney Disease, the economic in the family drops rapidly, the life expenses rises and children in such families are unable to afford for education. Kidney patients cannot afford the costly dialysis treatment and other medical aids due to financial issues with in the family. You have the greatest opportunity to help a kidney patient to live an extra day, by donating an affordable amount for any of these projects as monthly recurring or as single donations.

Samasthalanka Kidney Patients Association is a voluntary organization dedicated to the health and social well-being of Sri Lankan kidney patients and their families, and is the oldest kidney patients' association in Sri Lanka, made up of kidney patients, doctors, artists, intellectuals and the clergy.
